Spending money on multivitamins is like throwing money in
the trash. New
studies have shown that multivitamin use does not lead to a longer life
span or any real cardiovascular or mental health benefits, but it doesn’t show
any legitimate signs of harm from taking them either.
There was a study covered by Harvard
health several years ago that showed a general multivitamin DID reduce the
risk of certain health issues such as cataracts and cancers, but only by an 8%
margin which still leaves some doubt as to the validity of those statistics. There
was NO benefit shown in mental health or cardiovascular health what so ever. The
study also showed that there is no apparent risk of taking a multivitamin
either.
The
verdict? There’s just no point! It is recommended that you practice a balanced
diet, drink plenty of water and exercise regularly to ensure that your body is
getting everything that it needs.
